Design
Belkin has produced a lot of charging docks over the years, and in many ways I could view the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock as being the descendent of the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock I reviewed last year; it’s clearly got some of the same design DNA in place, albeit that this particular dock looks less like a Dalek and slightly more like something you might find flitting around battling the Starship Enterprise — or possibly defending Neo Tokyo from Godzilla attack.
Wireless charging? YES. Attack ship for taking on Kaiju? NO.
The Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock comes in two colour choices; either black or white/beige, and it’s the latter I’ve tested. Technically they’re “Charcoal” and “Sand” colours, but I know black and beige when I see it.
I lived through the era where everything tech-related was beige, and I’m not a big fan, so I’d advocate for the black unit. The silicone finish on it does give it a slightly premium feel, which is nice, but the beige shows dust and marks far more easily than a darker unit might.
As the name suggests, the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock a 3-in-1 Qi2 charger with a primary raised plate that can angle upwards or sit flat – which means you can use it with other Qi wireless gear that lacks the necessary magnets for full compatibility if you wanted to, along with a rear Apple Watch/AirPods charging plate, and then the base itself, which is quite heavy and sports a simpler Qi charging plate within it.
At the rear, there’s a single switch, but this isn’t for power. Instead, it’s for the small cooling fan built into the primary charging plate.
Belkin doesn’t specify the weight of the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock, but my scales measure it up at around 520g, which means that it’s not terribly suitable for portable use; this is far more a desk or bedside-based charger.
You could, however, go portable with the included 45W charger which connects via an included USB-C cable. I’m pleased that this is detachable, as it means you can replace it down the track, though I’m once again struck by the thought that this could be an even more flexible charger if the already large base also included a USB-C output power socket. That wouldn’t be wireless charging of course – but it would be handy.
Performance
Up until fairly recently, your Qi2 phone options were… well, they were either all iPhones, or the solitary example of the HMD Skyline and that meant that most Qi2 device makers tended to lean towards the Apple side of matters in terms of what they would charge.
That’s most evident here of course because the rear plate is only useful for charging an Apple Watch or Apple’s AirPods, AirPods Pro or Powerbeats Pro 2 if you’ve got the right generation models.
I guess the only way around that would be to ship the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock with either an empty holding cradle and ask users to use their own charging cables, or prepare different compatibility models for other smartwatch makers – but the big point of difference here now is that there is finally a premium Qi2 compatible phone option in the market now, and it’s from a brand that also does its own smartwatches.
That is of course the Pixel 10 series of phones, all of which are properly Qi2 compliant. Before the pedants jump on me, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is “Qi2 Ready”, that just means that it’s capable of using the right charging rates, but lacks the magnetic alignment coils within it to make that happen unless you buy an additional case.
Charging isn’t the most exciting thing to test or evaluate, but I do have some thoughts on the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock’s particular approach to share.
It works, because of course it does – Qi2 is a standard, it complies with it, therefore it works – and the fan (or in marketing-speak “ChillBoost™ Active Cooling Technology”) can have an effect at least at an observable temperature level if you use the dock to fully charge up a phone.
The long term benefit there isn’t really around whether your fingers get warmed up, but in theory the longevity of your phone’s internal battery, but that’s beyond the time scope of this review to test. The fan is very quiet in operation, and only kicks in when the primary charging plate is engaged.
Charging time is variable depending on the state of the phone’s battery when you attach it to the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock. Belkin’s claim is that it’ll charge up an iPhone 16 to 50% in around 25 minutes, but that will of course vary depending not only on the charge state of your phone, but also which phone you’re charging in the first place.
For testing the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock, I used an iPhone 16 Pro Max, alongside a Pixel 10 Pro XL and a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with a third party magnetic case.
All three took on power at a decent enough rate, but again the realities of batteries means that this will be variable, because charging like this happens on a curve.
To give that some tested mathematical basis, leaving a 43% charged iPhone 16 Pro Max connected for 10 minutes saw its power rise to 50%, while running the same test on a Pixel 10 Pro XL that started at 33% boosted its power up to 45%, better than the iPhone but not entirely surprising as it started from a lower base point. Again as a reminder, most battery charging works on a curve.
So how does that compare to Belkin’s claimed figures?
If I break down the battery size of an iPhone 16 (3561mAh, though Apple never reveals those kinds of details) then its 0-50% claim in 25 minutes equates to 20% gain in battery capacity every ten minutes, probably faster at the start and slower towards the end of that 30 minute span.
For the iPhone 16 Pro Max (4685 mAh), I saw a 7% gain, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL (5200 mAh) gained 12%.
This isn’t Belkin fibbing to you per se; it’s the nature of the way battery chemistry and charging works, as well as some of the inbuilt charging protection mechanisms built both into the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock and each phone in turn, plus the nature of having larger batteries in play in the first place.
Both of those phones have the inbuilt magnets and the lock on those was strong enough to hold the phone in place solidly; this also enables StandBy mode on iPhones and the Google equivalent Screen saver mode.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra I tested with connected, but the difference in magnet strength was noticeable. To be fair to Samsung I was using a third party case, and maybe their official ones pep up that strength, but I doubt it. It works, but you’ve got to be a little bit more precise when placing it on the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock
For practical purposes, this is a charger you’re going to plonk down on your desk or bedside table and use with your phone propped up on it during the day or overnight, not one you’re going to use for a blisteringly fast recharge. For those purposes, a cable-based charge is still going to be quicker.
There’s also a charging plate built into the base of the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock, though this is not Qi2 compliant, which means that there’s no inbuilt magnetic alignment.
Belkin’s pitch, mostly to the Apple crowd is that you could charge up an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods all at once, but there’s actually nothing stopping you trying to charge other Qi devices from the base, as long as you have patience.
Why patience?
Partly because the lack of magnets means that placement, even for AirPods can be a touch tricky as it always is, but mostly because it’s only a 5W capable charger, making it best suited for bud charging. Here you’re at least not stuck as you are with the Apple Watch charger; I was able to get the Shokz OpenDots ONE headphones charging just fine from the base this way for example.

Does the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock offer charging for 3 gadgets at once wirelessly? Yes, at that level it does properly do what it says on, in classic style, the tin.
Is it worth buying?
At $219.95, this is absolutely a premium buy for those who want more of a luxury charging feel. There’s no question that you can score a Qi2 compliant charger for less than this if you just want simpler charging on a wireless basis, and wired charging is still going to be the fastest way to top up a phone’s battery
Still, if you want a nice gift to give to somebody, or just want to treat yourself, the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock is a nice device.
