As always, that has zero implications for the content of this review; I call them like I see them. Yes, ethical disclosure probably isn’t what you’re here for, but in an Internet space that’s rife with grifters, AI, and all but certainly AI grifters, I prefer an honest, upfront approach.

Design

The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 is a portable power station that’s – more or less, like others of its style – built around a big stack of batteries encased in a body that gives you a whole load of ways to either recharge or discharge that power.
It’s a combination big ol’ battery and uninterruptible power supply, and as I’ve long noted, this is a technology space where you predominantly build for features, not for design style. As such, it comes in one colour – black – and in one sense its most remarkable design feature is the handle at the back that makes it luggable.

I’ll say luggable here, because at 4.3kg, you definitely feel it in the hand when you’re carrying it around, though it is slightly lighter than the recently reviewed EcoFlow River 3 Plus for the same essential battery capacity by 400 grams.
That might not sound like much, but if you were planning on buying one of these devices for a lengthy camping trip where it’d be part of your everyday kit, that 400g could make quite a difference.
Aside from the side mounted IEC C13 – that’s your standard kettle style cord, plug fans – socket for charging the unit from regular wall power, all the rest of the Bluetti Elite 30 V2’s inputs and outputs sit on the front of the device, surrounding a LCD display that lets you know visually how much power is left, charging time and input/output statistics at a glance.

Wall socket count: One.
In terms of outputs, the Australian unit as tested has a single 230V wall socket input for your standard plugs, as well as four USB sockets. Two of these are straight USB-A 15W sockets surrounded by a pair of USB-C sockets. On the right there’s a 100W USB-C socket, while the left USB-C socket can hit up to 140W via the Power Delivery (PD) standard.

USB sockets are nicely labelled so you can choose your appropriate power level.
Next to those you’ll find twin 12V DC5521 ports sitting below a J563 port, AKA a cigarette lighter port. Nobody should buy the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 with an eye to using it to light up their smokes, but if that was tempting you, maybe, perhaps, consider quitting?
Herein ends the health sermon. On with the review.

The final input socket above the cigarette lighter socket is a DC/PV input socket which is where you could (in theory, to be entirely transparent I don’t have the gear to test this) plug in inputs such as a solar panel for recharging the Bluetti Elite 30 V2.
Is any of this particularly pretty? Does it come in Bombastic Blue, Sparkling Pink or with a Vegan Leather finish?
No. But that’s not the point.
Functionality is the point here, because this is all about getting power to your devices – or ensuring it continues to flow when the power cuts out.

Performance

The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 is built around a fixed 286kWh LiFePO4 battery, and, like recently reviewed devices such as the above Ecoflow unit, or smaller battery packs like the Laser Chargecore Safecharge battery packs the benefit of that technology is that it should have a longer lifespan and be safer thermally over that time if you’re concerned about the issues around lithium battery fires.
Bluetti rates the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 as being good for at least 3,000 recharge cycles before it drops below 80% of that battery capacity.
Quick spoiler here: I’ve not charged and recharged the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 3,000 times to find out, because that would be prohibitively lengthy to do, and it wouldn’t arguably reflect how people are going to use this in real life what with variable temperatures and charging rates and so on.
At a technical level it’s identical to claims made by other manufacturers and you’d have to take it on trust to a degree, though for Australian consumers I’d point out that Australian consumer law compels manufacturers to live up to their claims. As long as there wasn’t evident damage or other issues and you found your device dropped below that battery level before that quantity of charging was done, you’d be in good stead for a refund or replacement… not that I’m a lawyer or anything, and strictly speaking this does not constitute legal advice.
Herein ends the not-quite-legal-advice. On with the review.
You can just pull the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 out of its box, plug it into your relevant power source and wait for it to charge and use it like a big battery, using the AC and DC power buttons on the front facing to enable those ports as needed if you wished.
We live in 2025, however, so naturally you can also get an app involved. Bluetti has its own app for iOS and Android that requires an email setup and password to access.
One oddity here is that there’s a QR code on the top of the device, but for Android phones that links you to a direct APK download of the app, which may make some users nervous. At the time of writing this review, the Bluetti App for Android was also available through Google Play if you don’t want to go through the hassle of sideloading and approving unknown sources and such.
The Bluetti app does rather fall into the classic trap of being mostly an ad for other Bluetti products – I’m not a fan of that approach – but it does also allow you to connect up the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 to Wi-FI and Bluetooth.
Why both? It’s largely because (for whatever reason) while the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 will download firmware updates over Wi-Fi, it’ll only seemingly run them if you’re connected to the device from your phone over Bluetooth. This tripped me up for a while initially, as the app insisted that there was a firmware update available but gave me no way to actually update until I was only connected over Bluetooth within my own local Wi-Fi network. Weird, though hopefully not a big hurdle as long as there aren’t a lot of updates to run.

The Bluetti Elite 30 V2’s display panel is clear enough in terms of available power and the likely rundown time of the device based on current power usage, with one noticeable quirk.

Every once in a while, more noticeably if I was charging devices from the wall socket, its output wattage figure sat at 0 watts.
It was charging devices or letting them run if they were devices that required direct power, but it did not show that usage beyond the hours left and percentage figures ticking down.
To be clear, it didn’t stop the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 from working, but you couldn’t clearly tell quite how much power it was drawing all of the time.
This seems to be – based on my own testing – an intermittent quirk, as sometimes it was just slow to pick up on its own power usage, while other times it simply never did. If you keep an eye on that core power percentage figure, which did click down reliably, it’s not a huge issue – but it could definitely do with a firmware fix down the track.
Speaking of plugging in regular power plug devices, it’s worth knowing that you can’t run absolutely everything with a power plug from the Bluetti Elite 30 V2. For normal devices it’s rated for up to 600W, but some devices can run higher than that, especially when they’re first firing up. The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 supports a surge power rate of up to 1500W, as long as you’ve got Power Lifting enabled within the Bluetti app.
I put this to the test the same way I tested the Ecoflow River 3 Plus with a small fan heater. Without Power Lifting enabled, I could run it as a direct cold fan without issue, but any level of heater element use tripped the safety features of the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 immediately.
Oddly, the fan was one of those devices that ran with (as per the Bluetti Elite 30 V2) a 0W usage figure, even though it was working. Switching power lifting on, I could engage the lowest level of the fan, which it registered at 592W, but its secondary higher level still tripped the unit. As you would expect, even running the heater at the lower acceptable level didn’t result in a particularly long run time.
The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 also has an uninterruptible power supply function, allowing vital gadgets to run even if you do have a blackout, with a stated response time of under 10ms, in line with industry standards.
Testing this with a Synology NAS and an Epson Printer respectively had it working nicely every time I simulated a blackout via the highly technical method of switching off wall power to the Bluetti Elite 30 V2.
I’m averse to causing an actual blackout in my area, partly due to fear of my neighbours lynching me, but also because of the significant fines that I’d incur for messing with the national power supply, so off-at-the-wall is as good a test as I can feasibly manage.
Bluetti Elite 30 V2: Alex’s Verdict

Quirks of power output display notwithstanding – that does totally feel like a software oddity to me, not a major flaw – the Bluetti Elite 30 V2 is a decent device for its core market. Not everyone needs a portable power supply like this, though for many of us the draw of that plus UPS makes for a compelling kind of product.
It is worth comparing and considering your precise needs, however. My obvious current point of comparison here would be the recently reviewed Ecoflow River 3 Plus, which sits at the same capacity and broadly the same kind of price point as the Bluetti Elite 30 V2, but with a slightly different feature set.
The Bluetti has a wider range of USB outputs, and they’re higher power as well, as its its claimed peak output of 1500W with Power Lifting enabled. Conversely, the Ecoflow provides multiple plug outputs and incorporates a light within its unit, perhaps making it a better camping choice, for example.
It’s very much a matter of finding the right device to match up to your power needs, because I could totally see the value in the Bluetti if you needed, for example, portable high power laptop charging and didn’t need the multiple wall outlets but could use four distinct USB outputs. That would be quite a spaghetti monster of cables in a portable sense – but it’d be feasible to do.
