Design
The Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro is, like most premium-priced robot vacuum cleaners a two-in-one model that includes vacuuming and mopping with separate tanks for clean and dirty water as well as an auto-emptying dustbag build around a central dock.
It’s a very white and shiny dock, which does have the effect of collecting dust, not only as part of its primary function but also because any robot vacuum cleaner in white just can’t help but show a little more dust over time. It’s honestly why I prefer models finished in black plastic, because they tend to hide that kind of detail just a little better.
That very minor gripe aside, at 488x475x381mm, the dock is relatively compact, and it has one of the best designed water tank systems I’ve seen in any robot vacuum cleaner to date, mostly due to the large and quite easy to grip top handles that make it much easier to lift up either tank for emptying or refreshing the water within as needed.

It’s not that other models are terrible in this respect, but having the top lip designed as it is here just makes it that bit easier to work with. Ultimately most robot vacuums are designed for those looking for an easier cleaning routine, and here the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro impresses.
There is a small downside here, however. The clean water tank does allow for detergent to be added to it, and Roborock does have its own brand preferences here, but curiously it doesn’t include even a sample bottle in the box with the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro.
Given it’s a rather easy upsell and continuous revenue source for Roborock, it’s odd that it’s decided to go the slightly cheap route here for a premium-priced model. For clarity’s sake, and to match what a consumer would be able to do out of the box with it, I’ve only used its mop with clean water, not with any other kind of surfactant during my review period.
The actual robot itself – decked in white plastic, so also a bit of a dust and fluff magnet – follows the standard round style of so many robot vacuum cleaners, though here it does pull the neat trick of having a pop-up LIDAR detector that did allow it access under some of the lower furniture in my house for easier cleaning in areas that, honestly, I don’t often think about.
A round shape is never going to get entirely into corners. I blame physics.
That does give it increased cleaning scope, though it is struck with the classic problem of being a circular robot in terms of getting really close to edges, even with extensible arms to try to get around that issue for features such as mopping.
Performance
Installation of the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro is via Roborock’s own App for Android/iOS, with registration a necessary part of that step. I’ve many tested Roborock’s prior robot vacuum cleaners previously, so this wasn’t a particularly onerous step in my case, though if you’re new to the platform there’s just a few steps to getting it up and running, including connecting it to your home Wi-Fi and letting it trundle around to get a basic floor map in place.
Like every other robot vacuum cleaner on the market, you can also follow it on a virtual map while it cleans.
Here I have a few standard tests I like to see a new robot robot vacuum cleaner handle, including some raised floor sections and a couple of heavy rugs that sometimes lead some units to getting either stuck or misidentifying areas of my home that I’d very much like to be cleaned.
Roborock rates the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro as being able to scale small ledges up to 4cm in height, and for my test area it did so very well indeed. While I’ve hit quite a few robot vacuum cleaners that can manage this particular challenge, many of them do so with a mix of lifting and what amounts to brute force, ramming themselves forwards in order to “jump” up the ledge, and this wasn’t the approach used by the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro during my review period.
As for the rug test, I had few issues with only one notable instance of the robot getting lost amidst the shag pile. More on that below.
One of the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro’s big calling cards is meant to be its suction, with up to 25,000Pa of vacuuming pressure, along with a single rotating arm for picking up floor matter and rotating mop brushes that also extend out on an arm to reach just a little further to the near edges of surfaces. These worked well for both dry matter pickup and mopping duties, though as noted above I wasn’t testing with any detergent in place.
None of these are absolute innovations in their own respects, and after a couple of weeks of testing, I’m mostly happy with how it performs.
I do have to quantify that a little, because I’m still struck by the fact that this many years into the history of robot vacuum cleaners, we’re still talking about devices that are best implemented as maintenance level cleaners.
If you do buy one, you’re best served running it every day and accepting that it’s not always going to hit every crevice or intelligently pick every obstacle.
During my review period it only got stuck once underneath a low table on thick carpet, though it managed that same obstacle both before and after that time. That’s not a bad average, but still, if you think this is the one true model that will leave you with no other tidying to do… think again.
Even without added detergent, the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro did a solid job of keeping my hard wood floors decently clean, as evidenced by the very grimy water that I had to empty from the dirty water tank on a regular basis.
The Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro is smart enough to know when it’s going to be crossing over carpet and if it’s only doing a mopping job it’ll detach the mop heads, rather than try just to lift them as some models do, which is a nice touch. I did notice some very light dampness post-mopping however, though that’s quite common even at this kind of price point.
My only other criticism here is that the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro isn’t the quickest of robot vacuum cleaners for a full clean. My standard cleaning area is one that typically takes most robot vacuums around 35-45 minutes to clean.
On average for the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro took more like 50 minutes or more for the same cleaning routine. I had few issues with how it cleaned, however, and this may be a non-issue for you if you’re simply setting it to run when you’re not home at all anyway.
Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro: Alex’s Verdict
Robot vacuum cleaners do still sit in the space of being a luxury buy for most people, both because of their general price points, but also because despite them becoming somewhat smarter over the years, they’re still no substitute for grabbing a mop or vacuum yourself and getting stuck in, at least until we get actual Jetsons-style family housekeeping robots. Maybe one day…
That being said, if you’re in the space where a robot vacuum cleaner is either a necessity due to infirmity or a desirable option simply because you can afford it, the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro is a very good unit for the basics.
It’s not the fastest unit, but the quality of its cleaning is very high, and that’s arguably worth waiting just a little bit longer for.
