The Shokz OpenRun Air 2 headphones are a cheaper alternative to the already excellent OpenRun Pro 2… so what’s being given up in return for that lower price point?
Ethical disclaimer:
The Shokz OpenRun Air 2 headphones used in this review were sent to me by Shokz, and they’re not expecting them to be sent back. Which is quite good in a hygiene sense — would you want to wear headphones someone has quite literally sweated on? — but does raise the issue of ethical conflicts.
For my part… there’s no conflict. Whether a product is a loan unit or a permanent gift makes no difference to my appraisals and it never has; over the years I’ve been blacklisted by some tech firms for not ‘playing the game’ of ‘complimentary’ reviews… and it hasn’t changed my stance one bit. Readers deserve honest reviews, but they also deserve upfront disclosure, which is why I’m writing this exact sentence right now.
