Motorola moto g34 5G, moto g24 and moto g04: Australian pricing, specifications and availabililty

Motorola Moto G34, Moto G24 and Moto G04 Impressions (Image: Motorola)
Motorola once again has a bevy of new smartphones for Australians to buy; here’s the base specifications and pricing plus my early thoughts on the moto g34 5G, moto g24 and moto g04 smartphones.

How much do the Motorola moto g34 5G, moto g24 and moto g04 phones cost in Australia?

The Motorola moto g34 5G costs either $279 from Motorola (and presumably other direct retail outlets) but only $229 from Motorola’s “select” carrier partners. That cheaper model may either be single SIM or network locked (or maybe both).

The Motorola moto g24 costs $229 outright.

The Motorola moto g04 is a lower cost phone with pricing at $179 outright, or $149 through Telstra.

When can I buy the Motorola moto g34 5G, moto g24 and moto g04 phones in Australia?

Moto G24

The moto g24 and moto g04 are available from the 21st of March 2024… which just so happens to be today if you’re buying outright. If you want the cheaper Telstra model, it’s listed as “coming soon”.

Next cab off the rank will be the moto g34 5G, which Motorola says it’ll sell itself from the 24th of March, with carrier availability also “coming soon”.

What are the specifications of the Motorola moto g34 5G, moto g24 and moto g04?

Moto g04

These are largely expected upgrades from Motorola, and sitting as they do in the cheaper end of the phone pool, the upgrades aren't huge. It's nice to see a variety of colours on offer, even if some of them are in "Vegan Leather" -- I'm not a fan of the feel of that -- and there's some interesting price and feature balancing in play between the G34 5G and g24 phones, especially if you were happy to buy one of the carrier models.

The Moto G04 is a predictably lower-price, lower specification phone, and it'll be interesting to see how that compares in that segment, where phone features have slowly been getting a lot better over the years.

It's also good to see Motorola being more upfront about upgrade cycles, and especially to committing to a number of years of security upgrades... but it's also a pity that only the g34 will ever get further than Android 14, and not that far from that anyway.

I should have the ability to review all three of these phones quite soon, so stay tuned for my full review.

  1. I went for the G04 in satin blue-for $179, happy with mine.

Awaiting your full reviews of the 3 new Moto G phones, Alex.
